About the Department

Given the importance of Physics in our life and society, the Physics Department was established as one of the main departments in the Faculty of Science in Rabigh starting from the academic year 1429-1430h so that it would welcome its students from the citizens of the Province as well as citizens of other regions who couldn't enroll in the universities close to their area of residence. The Physics Department currently consists of three faculty members (Professor, Associate Professor, and an Assistant Professor) who each have published researches in specialized international scientific journals. The faculty also includes a lab technician who has a bachelor degree from the Faculty of Science of KAU in Jeddah. The department teaches courses to students of the preparatory year and course that are needed by students of other faculties like the Faculty of Engineering in addition to teaching all the courses of physics in the Faculty of Science in Rabigh. There is no doubt that acquiring the bachelor degree in physics would earn the student an advantage in getting a job as a physics teacher for pre-university students or as a teaching assistant in a university in the case of an excellent student. And from there he would continue through the higher education programs in the department or through internal of external scholarships to eventually become a member of the faculty in the university. There are other approtonities waiting for this graduate student out there including the national industrial companies located throughout the country.
